Steve Hall joined Grasstime® in early 2014 as guitar player and vocalist. He also plays mandolin, upright bass and as of late has taken to learning a middle eastern instrument called an Ode! Steve was born and raised in the North East Tn. Mountains. Steve also started playing music as a child picking up guitar at age 13. With musical influences such as Ralph Stanley, Flatt and Scruggs, Bill Monroe and many other Bluegrass legends, Steve has crafted his singing style in a "woodsy" Appalachia style. He also fashions his hard driving lead and harmony vocals after many of the more modern progressive groups that continue the ever evolving Bluegrass sound today.
Steve is a Bluegrass/Gospel songwriter and has written several original songs, two of which appear on the first Grasstime® project!
Whether he is performing for a small intimate group or entertaining a large festival crowd, Steve will always give 100% for the audiences enjoyment!
