Charles Butler is one of Nashville’s leading progressive banjo players. Over the years he has made his mark performing with an eclectic list of musical acts, such as Langhorne Slim, Beats Antique, The Tennessee Warblers, The Great Barrier Reefs and The Tom Peng Newgrass Band. Currently, Charles lends his banjo picking to the band Grasstime, and leads his own musical group, known as Easy Green. 

Charles instrumental music can also be heard in the background of numerous television shows such as The Voice, American Pickers, Pawn Stars, Last Call with Carson Daly, and Sanjay & Craig. He is also known for publishing solo banjo videos on YouTube, such as his 2013 cover of Daft Punk’s ‘Get Lucky’, which garnered 1.8 million views and lead to the Huffington Post labeling him a “Banjo Extraordinare”. In 2020, Charles presented a banjo performance via virtual stage as part of the renowned Burning Man Festival.
